- Mike Korcek, '70, NIU Sports Information Director, won this year's Donald R. Grubb Distinguished Alumni Award. The award was announced at the NIU Journalism Banquet April 17.
- Kristophere Owens, '97, is a reporter for the Rock Island Argus.
- Lesley Rogers, '96, is a reporter for the State Journal-Register in Springfield.
- Grant Miller, '97, is a reporter for the Daily Chronicle in DeKalb.
- Peter Denk, '97, is a reporter for the Daily Chronicle in DeKalb.
- Mark Spychala, '97, is a reporter for the Daily Chronicle in DeKalb.
- Jason Schaumburg, '97, is a sports copy editor/designer for the Northwest Herald in Crystal Lake.
- Jen Bland, '96, is a reporter for the Northwest Herald in Crystal Lake.
- Jaime Jordan, '98, is a reporter at the Wilkes-Barre (Pa.) Times Leader, the first stop in a year-long Knight-Ridder graduate internship program. She also will work at the Kansas City Star and the Fort Worth Telegram.
- Erica Wood, '98, is a reporter at Pioneer Press in St. Paul, Minn. She also is part of the Knight-Ridder graduate internship program. Her other destinations are the Kansas City Star and the Wilkes-Barre Times Leader.
- Rich Rostron, '98, will spend the next year in Japan teaching English. Rich also won the Outstanding Senior Award at this year's NIU Journalism Banquet.

- Dave Lipien, '98, works in systems support for Ameritech.
- Amy Murar, '98, works in sales for ADP.

- Mike Logan, '98, is an advertising sales representative for the Kane County Chronicle.
- Grace Parker, '98, is an advertising sales representative for the Daily Herald, Arlington Heights.
