scholarship fund
On Feb. 28, current and past Northern Star students honored Maria Krull, the Star's business adviser, with a surprise program. The evening provided a way to say thanks from the many people whose lives Maria has touched in her 11 years at the Star.
Speakers who paid tribute to Maria included Tim O'Malley, NSA president; Jerry Thompson, former Star adviser; Mike Lacey, a former Star editor; Christine Klemme, former ad sales rep.; Laura McHale, former ad manager; and Linda Ringstrand, former ad sales rep and 1997 winner of the Bridge Builder alumni of the year award.
The dinner, held at the Crystal Pistol in DeKalb, attracted 81 people: 61 alumni, spouses and guests, plus 20 Northern Star students. The evening provided a great time with old friends, and raised more than $1,500 for scholarships. Here's the financial breakdown.
