Do you think the media coverage of Barack Obama's campaign has been over the top? |

Last season, NIU forward Shaun Logan averaged 5.5 rebounds per game. That makes the senior the Huskies’ top returning rebounder for the 2007-2008 season.
Native to Eldridge, Iowa, Logan transferred to NIU last year after competing at Kirkwood Community College for two years.
As a sophomore, Logan was part of a team that finished as the runner-up in the NJCAA Division II finals.
The Northern Star got a chance to catch up with 6-foot-7, 206-pounder to see what games he can’t wait to play, his favorite Halloween treat and why he owns a clown mask.
Northern Star: Looking at the schedule, do any games stick out as ones you look forward to playing in?
Shaun Logan: I’m really looking forward to the whole UNI tournament at Northern Iowa simply because I come from Iowa. It’s really close to home. It’s where a lot of my friends and are family are.
But really, overall, I can’t wait to play Notre Dame. I think it’s going to be pretty exciting to go to Notre Dame and play there. I’m really looking forward to that.
NS: What’s the feeling like in the locker room this season?
SL: It’s pretty intense. The banners are all up and they all talk about championships. They also talk about good grades, too. It’s really exciting to have all that stuff up and someone who believes they can get us there.
NS: So are there any games in your career that you will be telling your grandkids about in 50 years?
SL: I think some of the games. Like last year we played Michigan at Michigan, or this year playing Notre Dame.
There are even so many games back to high school and junior college. Going to the national junior college tournament and playing there will always be something to talk about.
These big games, like Notre Dame and Southern Illinois, will be something to tell them. I went there and played there. When my kids grow up, if I have kids, and they are watching those games, I can say I played there.
NS: Do you think some day your kids might watch ESPN Classic 5 and see you on television?
SL: Maybe they’ll run that Northern Illinois-Michigan game someday.
NS: It’s Halloween, do you have a costume?
SL: No, I never got around to getting a costume. I might just go with the original basketball player route.
I haven’t dressed up the last few years. It didn’t even cross my mind till the last second this year. I’ll probably just throw a sheet over my head and go as a ghost.
NS: When was the last time you did dress up for Halloween?
SL: Last time I dressed up, man, that had to be back in high school. It had to be something scary. I’m sure I was some kind of monster. I can’t really remember off hand, though.
NS: Any favorite candy that you look forward to during Halloween season?
SL: Favorite candy had to be anything chocolate. I have to go with the classic Snickers or Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.
NS: Have you ever popped the middle out of a Reese’s and ate it that way?
SL: I have done that [laughing]. I don’t usually do that much anymore. I have definitely done that and then looked through the hole. I think every kid has done that, but I’ve been there, done that.
NS: Are you a fan of any scary movies?
SL: I’m kind of a big fan of the “Saw” movies. I think I’m going to try to see the new one some time this week. My classic has to be “It.” When it first came out I was a little kid and it was the scariest thing.
NS: Did you ever have nightmares about clowns?
SL: No I don’t remember - I don’t think I did.
I did have a clown mask when I was a kid. So, when I had friends that I watched that with, I would pull it out and scare them. It usually worked great.
