Colbert provides a breath of fresh air to a 'ridiculous' system
By

This is response to Justin Smith’s column about Stephen Colbert. His strong remarks and apparent great feelings toward this issue puzzle me. He states that Colbert is a native of Chicago, when Colbert talks about his South Carolina roots every day on his show.

This tells me that Smith is not as avid of a watcher as he might claim to be. In addition, he is offended that college students are rallying around Colbert’s presidential run.

Well, I am offended that he is offended at a large group of people who are fed up with the current political climate and are drawn to an actual sign of life shown in this race.

Colbert is simply making a statement about how ridiculous the system has become. In the end, it is all about the comedy, and a true comedian like Colbert can do whatever he wants in the name of great satire.
