Today is the World Solidarity Day for the two Israeli soldiers that were abducted over one year ago by Hezbollah terrorists who crossed into Israel by digging tunnels under the Israel/Lebanon border, and for the one soldier abducted by Hamas.
The Israeli soldiers are Gilad Shalit, Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev.
The UN has called for the soldiers’ immediate and unconditional release with UN Resolution 1701.
The three Israeli soldiers have also been denied access to medical care from the Red Cross and contact with their family, which is required by international law.
But even with terrorists breaking international law and not abiding by the UN, the world has been silent.
The Israeli soldiers being held captive is not an Israel issue but a world issue.
The world should care because if international law and UN resolutions are ignored, then what is the point of having them?
Also, the terrorists are Hezbollah terrorists, the same group that killed hundreds of U.S. servicemen in 1983 when they attacked complexes in Lebanon that housed U.S. and French servicemen.
If Hezbollah is willing to kill hundreds of U.S. soldiers and start a war with Israel (when the two soldiers were kidnapped), all under the order of Iran, what can we expect in the future when Iran (Hezbollah) has a nuclear bomb?
