Rant: NIU vs. Iowa
By James Nokes

NIU vs. Iowa is so easy, a caveman could sponsor it.

This is not just any game, but a game delivered to us compliments of the online car insurance company Geico.

If we’re lucky, maybe the little talking gecko will take a couple of snaps, catch a few passes or line up in the defensive secondary.

Or maybe the cavemen will come out in the cardinal and black, line up opposite Larry English at defensive end and rush Iowa quarterback Jake Christensen.

I’m sure the very sight of our hairy Paleolithic-era ancestors would force numerous pressures to the sophomore quarterback.

I have just one question now that we playing in a ‘brought-to-you-by’ game: If the outcome is determined in fifteen minutes or less, will we get 15 percent of the price of our tickets returned?
