By

At 10:46 p.m. Wednesday, the DeKalb Police Department was informed that two NIU students were being robbed.

The two victims were walking in the 800 block of Edgebrook Drive when they engaged in an argument with subjects in an apartment at 912 Edgebrook Drive, according to a DeKalb Police Department press release.

The victims were outside the apartment arguing with the occupants through a window and as they walked away, they were approached by two subjects wearing masks. One of the subjects displayed a gun in his waistband and demanded property from the victims, the press release stated.

After a brief struggle, the offenders and victims fled the area on foot. Two suspects were located at 912 Edgebrook and taken into custody.

Police charged Kevin D. Brown, 19, of Chicago and Dion A. Jones, 20, of DeKalb, with aggravated robbery. Both were taken to the DeKalb County Jail pending bond.

The victims sustained minor injuries. One was treated and released at Kishwaukee Community Hospital, according to the release.
