CPR certification offered at Kish
By BEN BURR

Another opportunity to be CPR certified is coming to DeKalb this month.

The DeKalb County American Red Cross (ARC) chapter is holding an Infant, Child and Adult CPR and Automatic Electric Defibrillator (AED) Course on Saturday, Nov. 17.

The course will be in Suite 200 of the Kishwaukee Health Care Building, 2727 Sycamore Road.

Rich Gillati, an ARC instructor, said the turnout is usually between eight and 12 participants.

The class is offered at least once a month, according to Gillati, who, in regard to future plans, added, “Hopefully, we’ll be doing more and different types of courses.”

Among the other classes the DeKalb ARC chapter has provided in the past are wilderness first aid and emergency preparedness, as well as a babysitting course.

There is a $75 fee for course materials. Refunds will be issued only for cancellations made more than 72 hours in advance.

More information on the course can be found by calling 815-756-7339 or e-mailing dekalbcountyarc@yahoo.com.
