Jimmy John's delivery driver robbed
By ALAN EDRINN

A Jimmy John’s delivery driver was robbed Wednesday evening after he finished a delivery.

At 5:55 p.m. in the 700 block of Regent Drive, the driver was approached by a white male who started a conversation with the driver. An Hispanic male then came from the front door of the apartment building and struck the driver, knocking him to the ground.

The suspects demanded money from the driver, who gave them an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects then fled on foot.

The driver sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention.

The first suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, about 6-feet tall, wearing a white T-shirt, a hoodie and jeans.

The second suspect is described as an Hispanic male wearing a dark-colored hoodie.

Lt. Gary Spangler of the DeKalb Police Department said this robbery is not thought to be connected to the previous chain of robberies and the timing is uncommon for this type of robbery.

“This appears just to be a crime of opportunity,” he said.
