Greek Beat: Thurs., Aug. 30
By Greek Community

It’s upon us again: The beginning of the fall semester. Football season, new schedules, leaves changing… and formal recruitment for the sororities on campus. As some of you may know, this section of the newspaper is dedicated to informing the rest of the campus on what’s happening in the Greek community.

Right now, the College Panhellenic Council is excited to invite women on campus to participate in fall recruitment.

Every year we host a recruitment orientation which is there to help you decide whether Greek life is right for you. This year the orientation will be held next Wednesday and Thursday.

We answer questions and familiarize you with the recruitment process and what will be happening during the weekend.

Recruitment weekend is Sept. 7-9, during which time you will visit each chapter on NIU’s campus: Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Phi, Alpha Sigma Alpha, Delta Gamma, Delta Zeta, Sigma Kappa and Sigma Sigma Sigma. It runs Friday evening through Sunday evening.

During this time you will get to meet with women from every chapter, go on tours of all the houses, and participate in a philanthropy craft that gives you a glimpse into what each chapter does to give back to the community.

To participate in recruitment you need to go online and register at our Web site: http://www.niu.edu/studentinvolvement/cpc.html.

There are so many great things to be a part of at NIU. Being a member of the Greek Community is one of those things.

We hope to see all of you at Recruitment Orientation next week. You think you know, but you have NO IDEA. Come see what REAL sorority life is like! GO GREEK!
