The DeKalb Police Department is looking for two suspects involved in a strong-arm robbery that occurred Tuesday night.

On Tuesday at 10:10 p.m., the victim and her friend passed two males who were standing in the drive of 1110 Varsity Blvd. The men allegedly walked up behind the two and engaged them briefly in conversation.

One of the men allegedly grabbed the victim’s purse and yanked it from under her arm, then sprinted due east. The other man ran north. The witness gave chase briefly, but “had no chance to catch the man who stole her purse,” according to police reports.

Vague descriptions were provided, and a check of the area proved negative. No arrests were made.

The first suspect is described as a black male, 5’7” and about 120 pounds.
He was wearing a black basketball jersey with white numbers and blue on the front.

The second suspect is described as a black male, 5’10” and about 140 pounds.
He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

The DeKalb Police Department encourages anyone with information on the suspects to contact the DeKalb police at 815-748-8400 or Crimestoppers at 815-895-3272.
