Florida man faces charges from DeKalb County
By ALAN EDRINN

A Florida man was arrested and charged with a probation violation for aggravated stalking of a woman from Sandwich in DeKalb County.

According to a DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department press release, John T. Pallerino, 35, of Plantation, Fla., was arrested at his home by DeKalb County Sheriff’s detectives and tactical offices from the Plantation Police Department on Nov. 8.

Pallerino is charged with a probation violation for aggravated stalking in the state of Florida. Ron Matekaitis, DeKalb County state’s attorney, authorized a charge of stalking and 13 counts of violating an order of protection.

Pallerino had previously been placed on a five-year suspended sentence out of Lee County in Florida for aggravated stalking/cyber stalking on an unrelated case, said DeKalb County Sheriff Roger Scott.

An investigation revealed that Pallerino harassed the female victim by making hundreds of telephone calls and text messages over a four-month period, many of which were sexual and threatening, according to the press release. Pallerino also followed and surveilled the victim and threatened physical harm to her prior to his recent move back to Florida.

Scott said Pallerino and the victim had a past relationship but couldn’t elaborate on the specifics of the relationship.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges can be expected in coming weeks, according to the release.
