Chipotle Restaurant pitched “eat a burrito, aid a family farm” Wednesday.
Even though some customers were not aware of the charity promotion, it still managed to bring in business.

Chipotle, 1013 W. Lincoln Highway # A, held its nationwide promotion Wednesday. With this one day promotion, up to $50,000 from burrito sales will be donated to Farm-Aid, a nonprofit group.

Public response seemed to be mixed between consumers being unaware of the promotion or organic ingredients, to being greatly enthused by the quality.

Katerina Panagiotaros of DeKalb who was not aware of the promotion, said, “I would pick Chipotle over someplace else, so that I know what I’m eating.”

While Chipotle will continue its dedication to quality, sometimes consumer choices simply boil down to what they have a taste for.

“It depends on what I feel like eating,” said Kiara Russell, finance major.
Though customer responses to the promotion varied, Chipotle will continue its donations to organizations and quest for high-quality food.

Bari Baskin, local store marketing consultant for Chipotle, said, “It’s about doing the right things for the right reasons.”
