No injuries were reported in a garage fire early Monday morning in the 16000 block of Bethany Road.

At around 3 a.m., residents at the house awoke to smoke at 16017 Bethany Road. The fire was contained to the garage and attic around the fireplace. No foul play is suspected, and the fire appears to be accidental in nature, according to a DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Sycamore, DeKalb, Cortland, Genoa and Kirkland Fire Departments responded to the scene.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office was unable to be reached for comment as of press time.
