Track of the Day - “This Time Tomorrow” by the Kinks

Finals week is upon us.

This hellish week is when all that procrastination comes back to haunt us. Sleep deprivation is at its worst, you’re too broke to eat anything besides crackers and ramen, you don’t have any clean clothes and you’re sick of every song on your iPod. All the while, your roommates are somehow able to party while you’re fighting for your very survival.

It is during this time that it’s easy to forget why you are here and what you have to look forward to (and you’re here so you can have something to look forward to).

“This Time Tomorrow” serves as a reminder of everything to look forward to: of winter break, of the start to a new semester and of graduating.
Simply put, “This Time Tomorrow” is an uplifting rock song that, through its upbeat lyrics about being in a plane miles above Earth, will get you miles away from whatever your problems are.

This song has gone unappreciated for a long time after being overshadowed by the hit single “Lola”, on the same album. Recently, however, it has risen in popularity after being prominently featured in the newest Wes Anderson film, “The Darjeeling Limited.”
