Last fall, 12 students participated in a unique opportunity that led them to meeting 25 McDonald’s executives. They also made documentaries to chronicle their experiences.

McDonald’s hired these students through the Experiential Learning Center in the NIU College of Business.

Students were challenged to use skills advanced skills such as project management, communication, presentation, team-building and leadership.

This ‘mock’ business course lasted 16 weeks and eventually led the students to a meeting with McDonald’s executives at the restaurant chain’s headquarters in Oak Brook.

According to an NIU news release, the students impressed the executives and the company may even utllize some of the ideas that were presented at the meeting.

After working as consultant’s for McDonalds, the students can now write business cases and use new technology to help promote future business ventures.
