Do you think the media coverage of Barack Obama's campaign has been over the top? |

I am writing in response to your top story in the Jan. 23 issue, “Students Left in the Cold.” For me it is OK when buses leave late; there is nothing that you as a citizen can do about a late bus.
But what really bugs me is when buses leave early. I waited over 20 minutes for a Circle Left bus at the Holmes Student Center, and when it pulled up, the next Circle Left bus showed up immediately behind it. I took the first bus and left about 6:02 p.m.
As we went through the turnaround at DuSable, I saw the other Circle Left bus coming this way, and it was only 6:07 p.m. Less than five minutes between the buses and not leaving at the scheduled time is unacceptable.
It is possible that both buses were late, but, in that case, the bus line should coordinate with the drivers what to do in this situation instead of playing catch-up. The fact that one bus receives all the passengers while one trails behind is a waste of time, money and manpower for that second bus.
Maybe those new GPS monitors could be put to some good use: say, telling us which buses are late instead of having us guess?
