Sears' return policy needs transparency
By LETTER WRITER

Did you know that if you buy a select home appliance, home electronics, home improvement, household goods, lawn and garden and automotive products from Sears and it is delivered by a Sears professional and then for whatever reason returned to the store by that professional before you use or even handle it, it is considered “used”? As soon as it leaves the store, it is subject to a restocking fee of 15 percent. Your Sears person will not tell you about this policy before the purchase, nor will you find it posted in writing at the store. Caveat emptor!
