By NORTHERN STAR STAFF

A 2007 NIU graduate was one of five shooting victims at a Tinley Park shopping center Saturday.

Sarah Szafranski, 22, of Oak Forest majored in finance and was working as a paralegal, according to her Facebook profile.

The four other victims were identified as Connie R. Woolfolk, 37, of Flossmoor; Carrie A. Chiuso, 33, of Frankfort; Jennifer L. Bishop, 34, of South Bend, Ind.; and Rhonda McFarland, 42, of Joliet, by Will County Coroner Patrick K. O’Neil, according to a Tinley Park Police press release.

O’Neil determined the victims all died due to gunshot wounds, according to the release.

The Tinley Park Police Department is continuing its investigation of the shooting. This incident appears to stem from an armed robbery attempt which may have been interrupted, according to the release.
