Jason Statham’s character “gets to know” his girlfriend, played by Amy Smart, in the middle of a crowded street to keep his heart from shutting down.

4. “Shoot ‘Em Up” (2007)
Clive Owen “gets to know” Monica Bellucci while gunning down pesky interloping henchmen.

3. “The Princess Bride” (1987)
Robin Wright Penn realizes that Cary Elwes is her long-lost love – shortly after shoving him down a very steep hill. She then throws herself down after him.

2. “Kill Bill: Vol. 2” (2004)
David Carradine crashes his ex-girlfriend’s wedding and puts a bullet in the bride’s head, in the name of love.

1. “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” (2005)
Brad Pitt punches Angelina Jolie in the mouth, and Jolie responds with a kick to the groin. “Getting-to-know” each other follows.
