DeKalb advises residents on parking restrictions due to weather
By NORTHERN STAR STAFF

In response to a winter snow storm advisory issued by the National Weather Service, the city of DeKalb is advising residents to not park on all designated snow routes. The ban started at 5 p.m. Monday and will end Tuesday at 5 p.m.
When snow accumulates two or more inches, parking within or upon any designated snow route within the corporate limits of DeKalb is strictly prohibited, according to a press release from public works.

Parking within the routes will result in the issuance of a minimum fine of $75 plus the associated towing/storage costs.

Residents are urged to locate private, off-street parking spaces and refrain from parking on all other public streets during the inclement weather until snow removal crews have had an opportunity to clear the roads.
Motorists are urged to use extreme caution, and cooperation will be appreciated.
