Cole Hall will be demolished and replaced by "Memorial Hall," a new general classroom building, according to an NIU news release.

Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich will be on hand with NIU President John Peters to make the announcement at 1 p.m. today in front of Cole.

The governor will provide state funding for the project which is expected to produce a state-of-the-art learning environment.

Student Association President Jarvis Purnell, State Senator Bradley Burzynski and State Representative Robert Pritchard will be at the scene as well.
