Crisis dog owner thanks NIU for sharing during tragic time
By LETTER WRITER

Dear NIU students, faculty and staff:

Although I have returned to my home and daily work in Nebraska, my thoughts and heart have remained with NIU this week. You made my dog, Sadie, and me, and all the other crisis dog teams part of your community and allowed us to share in your grief. I thank you for that. It was a privilege to see the courage and caring that make your NIU family so special.

Whether a Nebraska resident with a Labrador Retriever or a Michigan native with a Newfoundland, we were all proud to be Huskies with you.

In profound gratitude,

Lisa Ashby and Sadie
Animal-Assisted Crisis Response
Seward, Nebraska
