ROTC to hold labs in Eco Park woods

The NIU Department of Military Science (ROTC) will be conducting tactical labs in the Eco Park woods from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Rubber M-16 replicas will be used during the activity. Any questions can be directed to Christopher Oertwig at 815-753-6238.


Ellington’s to serve ethnic foods

Ellington’s, the student-run restaurant on the main level of the Holmes Student Center, will serve Brazilian, Mexican and Asian food this week.

Tuesday: Passaporte a Brazil
Wednesday: The Dancing Sombreros
Thursday: Garden of Eden

Lecture to be held on women in politics

A lecture by Benita Roth, associate professor of sociology and Women’s Studies at Binghamton University, will take place at 11 a.m. today in Holmes Student Center, Heritage Room.

The lecture, “Necessary Feminists: The Feminist Presence in American Politics,” will focus on the roles females place in current day politics.

Filmmaker to present hip-hop documentary

Filmmaker Byron Hurt will be presenting his film, “Beyond Beats and Rhymes” and a discussion March 25 at 7 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center, Carl Sandburg Auditorium.

The event, put on by the Women’s Resource Center, is free but individuals wanting to attend should call 815-753-0320 to reserve a seat.
