Woman involved in Sycamore crash cited; Condition still unknown
By ALAN EDRINN

A 43-year-old Sycamore woman involved in a car crash Monday has been cited, but her condition remains unknown.

Amy Meyerholz, 43, of Sycamore was cited with disobeying a red light.
Meyerholz was involved in a rollover accident Monday afternoon in the 1300 block of DeKalb Avenue in Sycamore.

Meyerholz was airlifted from the scene to a Rockford hospital, but her medical condition is still unknown, said Lt. Cary Singer of the Sycamore Police Department.

Singer said witnesses from the scene and witnesses following the other vehicle saw Meyerholz run a red light before her vehicle was T-boned and knocked over. The other driver did not require medical attention and was taken home after the accident. The red light was stale and not turning from yellow to red, he said.

The Sycamore Fire Department arrived at the scene and cut the roof from the vehicle, removed Meyerholz and attempted to stabilize her. The helicopter landed in the Farm and Fleet parking lot, 1300 DeKalb Ave., and airlifted her to a Rockford hospital.

Singer, who was on the scene, reported Monday that for a driver to be airlifted from an accident, his or her injuries would be substantial.
