Crystal Lake residents charged with underage drinking
By ALAN EDRINN

Two Crystal Lake residents were arrested early Saturday morning after they were seen walking away from a damaged apartment sign.

At 2:46 a.m., Alan Swanson, 20, and Joshua Buhr, 20, were seen walking away from a broken apartment sign and other damaged property at 943 Lucinda Ave. When police approached the suspects, Swanson and Buhr started running in different directions from the officer. Both were later stopped by police and arrested, said Lt. Gary Spangler of the DeKalb Police Department.

Buhr admitted to damaging one of the signs, and both suspects were found drinking, Spangler said.

Swanson is charged with obstructing a peace officer, resisting a peace officer and consumption of alcohol as a minor.

Buhr is charged with criminal damage to property, consumption of alcohol by a minor and attempting to obstruct justice.
