Kishwaukee Family YMCA is hosting Healthy Kids Day on April 11.

Debbie Madeley, the membership development and marketing director, said there will be activities for children and adults, including swimming, sports, crafts and a dance class.

This is the 17th year the YMCA has held a Healthy Kids Day, and Madeley said about 400 participants attended last year’s event.

She said the goal of the event is to help community members improve their health and well-being by showing them what resources are available.

“Of course, those are long-term goals,” Madeley said. “The short-term goal of the event is simply for families to come out and spend time together and have fun.”

The day is free and open to the public of all ages. For more information, call 815-756-9577.
