An extensive five-week Peace development program (Philippine Youth Leadership Program) will be spearheaded by the International Training Office starting April 2008.

A total number of 22 high school and undergraduate students were flown in to NIU straight from Mindanao, a southern island in the Philippines, to participate in seminars and capacity-building workshops in interethnic dialogue and conflict resolution.

The program will also feature a Philippine Cultural Night highlighting colorful native dances, music and cuisine at 5:30 p.m. April 25 in the Wirtz Hall Auditorium. Admission is free. For more information, contact Dr. Lina Ong at 815-753-9547.
