Jam-packed summer of jamming continued
By TONY MARTIN

Lollapalooza
Grant Park, Chicago - Aug. 1-3
Price: $190 for a three-day pass (price subject to change)
Perry Farrell’s Lollapalooza Festival has been resurrected from the dead and found a permanent home in Chicago’s Grant Park. For the past several years, an eclectic group of musicians has performed underneath the summer sun for this three-day festival. This year’s artist list includes Rage Against The Machine, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Kanye West, Wilco, Gnarls Barkley and Cat Power. Lollapalooza is an amazing privilege for Chicagoans and should be a great festival for those who can afford to go.

Bonnaroo
Manchester, Tenn. - June 12-15
Price: $209.50 for a four-day pass (subject to change)
Are you willing to drive 500 miles? Do you like extended jam sessions? Think hemp is better than polyester? If you answered yes to any of these questions, Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is the right summer concert for you. Among the musical acts this year are Pearl Jam, Metallica, The Allman Brothers Band, Robert Plant and Allison Krauss. M.I.A. Bonnaroo also will welcome several of the best stand-up comedians around: Chris Rock, David Cross and Zach Galifianakis.

Summerfest
Milwaukee, Wis. - June 26 - July 6
Price: varies
Summerfest touts itself as being the biggest musical festival in the world and for good reason. The festival, held on over 75 acres of land, is open for 12 hours everyday for ten days and will feature Stone Temple Pilots, Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers, Stevie Wonder, Rush, Alicia Keys and The Jonas Brothers. Summerfest is also famous for its diverse food and drink offerings and the fact that it attracts over a million concert-goers every year.

Ozzfest
Official dates and prices to be announced.
Although an official lineup and tour dates are unknown as of yet, online rumors are circulating that Ozzy Osbourne, along with his solo band, will headline the tour. This is contrary to earlier reports that suggested that Sharon Osbourne was trying to reunite the original members of Black Sabbath. Other rumored acts include Judas Priest, Sevendust, Killswitch Engage, Serj Tankian and Filter. Tickets to Ozzfest were free last year, but it is not known if they will be free again for this year’s tour.
