Police still investigating threat found Monday morning; security boosted on campus
By NORTHERN STAR STAFF

A graffiti threat was found early Monday morning on campus. In response to the threat, the NIU community should expect to see heightened security over the next few days, according to the NIU Web site.

The University Police say threats of this nature to do not warrant any class cancellations, building closures, or anything out of the ordinary.

NIU posted a campus alert bulletin on their website at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. Anyone with any information on this threat is urged to call the campus police.

This is the second time in the last week that a campus security alert has been posted online. Last Thursday, the Health Services building was evacuated after a bomb threat was found in a stairwell.

Late Wednesday night, an update to the alert was posted online. "NIU police continue their investigation into this incident and are maintaining a more visible presence across campus to answer questions, take information and provide reassurance," the update said.

NIU Public Affairs is not providing any details on the threat at this time.
