CAB searching for new president

Despite the regular election one month ago, Campus Activities Board will be hosting a special presidential election May 6.

CAB president Colleen Murphy said she learned of the new round of elections Wednesday morning. Murphy said Lonnie Pollard, the winner of the CAB presidency elections last month, will no longer serve as president next year.

However, the reasons and details behind Pollard’s resignation, or firing, are still unknown. Murphy said the decision did not come from CAB, but from the Student Involvement and Leadership Development office.

CANDIDATES MEETING
When: Monday, April 28 - 9:00 p.m.
Who: Anyone interested in running the CAB run-off presidential election
Where: Campus Life Building room 100
Regardless, Murphy says CAB is obligated to hold an election.

“Our constitution says if the president’s seat is vacated before he takes office, it defaults to another election,” Murphy said.

Any student wishing to run in this election is required to attend the candidates’ meeting held Monday at 9 p.m. in Campus Life Building, Room 100.
