Track of the Day: 'School's Out' by Alice Cooper
By NYSSA BULKES

This song isn’t just a stellar “Guitar Hero” experience.

As the school year winds down, Cooper helps us voice what may seem difficult to express: how students feel about relinquishing their perfectly timed schedules, the messy gel pens and the heated lecture halls in 70-degree weather.

Cooper’s guitar riffs nail down the angst felt campus-wide. Students cower in sadness as they anticipate bidding adieu to their beloved NIU for the entire, abominable, three-month long summer. Photos on NIU’s Web site will have to suffice when loneliness and insecurity rear their ugly heads to remind students that school is out for summer.

For all the graduating seniors, the lyrics “school’s out forever” will surely hold a certain sadness. Just remember: Keep stock in Kleenex this time of year. Stocks may be so high that one could invest that money in a second round of college! Perhaps they could even take an exciting basket-weaving course. Hip-hip-hooray!

I’m sorry, who am I?
