Mudcrutch reviewer missed Petty facts
By LETTER WRITER

I would like to express my thanks as a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers fan to John Puterbaugh for writing a review of the Mudcrutch debut album for the May 2 issue of the Northern Star. I did, however, want to point out a few errors in Puterbaugh’s reporting.

First, Tom Petty is not in his 60s; he is only 57 (he was born in 1950). His birthday is Oct. 20, 1950.

Also, the “rag-tag band” with a following “no bigger than a thousand or so people” are false ideas. Mudcrutch threw large festivals at the Mudcrutch Farm in their heyday and were popular all around Florida. Thanks for your time.
