At approximately 2:25 p.m. Friday, a DeKalb patrol officer saw a man running while carrying knives in the 900 block of Fotis Drive, according to a DeKalb Police Department Press Release.
The officer spoke with the man and learned he was robbed and was chasing after the suspects. He said he was robbed at a friend’s apartment on Fotis Drive and was attacked by two people after planning on having a dice game at the apartment. The suspects took property from the victim. The victim then obtained knives from the apartment after being robbed and went after the suspects, according to the release
Police stopped the two suspects, who were identified by the victim, and they were taken to the DeKalb Police Department.
The suspects arrived at the apartment in a group of five.
One suspect was identified as Carlton R. Furlough, 18, of Chicago, a second suspect fled the scene and was later identified as Renauld D. Clayton, 20, of Chicago. A third suspect in the group was located at Grant Towers North and was identified as Steven R. Agee III, 19, of DeKalb. Agee participated in the planning of the robbery and was transported to the DeKalb Police Department, according to police.
Agee and Furlough were charged with robbery, a Class 2 felony. Both were booked and transported to the DeKalb County Jail pending bond. There was an arrest warrant issued for Clayton. The victim is a NIU student and was not injured in the robbery, according to the release.
