The Sycamore State Street Theatre, located at 420 W. State St., ran a midnight showing of “The Dark Knight” Thursday, complete with police vehicles from the film parked outside.

In spite of other theaters’ selling out tickets weeks in advance, Sycamore’s late show failed to fill the house. But those who did come out were enthusiastic about the film.

HOW DO YOU THINK “THE DARK KNIGHT” WILL COMPARE TO THIS SUMMER’S BLOCKBUSTERS?

“I think the Joker’s acting is going to make the movie.”
Dalton Thompson, 18, of Sycamore.

“‘Iron Man’ had a bit of everything, but for action, ‘Dark Knight’ beats it.”
Cole Roesner, 16, of Sycamore.

“Maybe ‘Wall-E’ could compare.”
Kaitlynn Van, 17, of Sycamore.

“It has a lot of hot actors: very good actors.”
Chloe Bridges, 17, of Sycamore.

“It’s just going to beat everything.”
Justin Roesner, 17, of Sycamore.

“I figure it’s gonna do better than a lot of them.”
Gene Bellinger of DeKalb, an actor who played two non-speaking roles in “The Dark Knight.”

“I’m just anticipating a really good movie. I’m interested to see how this one turns out.”
Kory Lynch, 23, of Sycamore.
