Ten myths about NIU and DeKalb

3. The Holmes Student Center is a barn.

4. “Don’t drink the water!”

5. Residents commute to work by crop duster.

6. There used to be a horse slaughterhouse here. Oh, wait...

7. Those “bitter” people Barack Obama was talking about live here.

8. DeKalb is in Iowa.

9. Corn is used as currency.

10. NIU is a football school (Sorry guys.)

You have no idea what you are talking about. NIU is DEFINITELY a football school! You must be some bandwagon fan of Notre Dame or USC. Have some school pride for crying out loud. Go Huskies!!!
