NIU had two baseball players selected in the 2008 MLB amateur draft.

Shortstop Bobby Stevens was selected in the 16th round by the Baltimore Orioles, and pitcher Trevor Feeney was taken in the 31st round by the Detroit Tigers.

Both players signed with their respective clubs and have made their pro debuts.

Feeney is currently 2-6 with a 4.17 ERA for Short Season-A Oneonta, New York.

Stevens is currently hitting .218 with one home run and 12 RBI’s for rookie-level Bluefield, Virginia
