The Huskie Bus Line has grown this year, adding another route and expanding the weekend routes.
Route eight will travel from the Holmes Student Center to the Northern View Community, then stop on Stadium Drive and also outside DuSable Hall. It will run Monday through Friday, starting at 7 a.m. and ending at 6:30 p.m. on Friday (7 p.m. on other weekdays).
The weekend route has also been expanded to include weekend north and south routes, in addition to the weekend left and right routes. The weekend north route will take students to Amber Manor Apartments near the corner of Normal Road, Ridge Drive, Twombly Road, and the corner of Regent Drive and Varsity Boulevard. The weekend south route will go into downtown DeKalb along First Street, and will make stops at the Ashbury Court Apartments and Schnucks Marketplace.
“I felt that students needed more options on the weekend,” said Robert Sorsby, director of mass transit for the Student Association.
