Each month, The Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second St., selects a classic film to be shown. It’s no coincidence that this month they chose “Rudy,” a classic football film for any fan.

“Rudy” tells the story of a young man who, from a very young age, is determined to play for Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish. Although Rudy struggles to obtain admission to the school he remains determined and refuses to give up on his dreams. The film is also based on a true story, making it that much more enjoyable to watch.
“We thought it was a great way to start the fall season, especially since it’s a football-themed movie.” says Alex Nerad, Egyptian Theatre’s Operations Director.
“Rudy” has a lot of heart and is sure to make for a great Sunday afternoon movie. And, if you are worried about missing the precious Bears game that evening, there is no need to worry. The first two showings are early in the afternoon so as not to interfere with any game-time rituals.
“It really is a great film for families and people of all ages,” Nerad said.
