Libertarian candidate not standard politics

By LETTER WRITER

To read the newspaper and watch local TV coverage, you would think that the only people running for president are senators Obama and McCain. Well, I have good news. Voters in this area will have as a choice Bob Barr this fall.

As I see it, Obama and McCain represent the same old politics of the past. Obama says he will bring about real change to Washington, however, his running mate has been serving in Washington since 1972. How can one bring change to Washington when you have a vice president who has been a part of the problem for 36 years? Sen. Biden voted for the war in Iraq, which Obama opposed while in Illinois. Biden will not help Obama bring about real change, just more of the same. Furthermore, McCain used to be a strong critic of his own party, but has resorted back to the traditional right wing views of the past seven years that have greatly damaged our country’s image in the world and our economy.

Bob Barr has experience as a leader, serving in the House of Representatives from 1995-2003 and has been away from Washington for five years allowing him to realize how both parties area leading this country in the wrong direction. He knows that our government cannot solve every problem with more money and understands that we should not invade and occupy other countries that do not pose an imminent threat to the U.S. Therefore, I’m voting for real change this fall by supporting Bob Barr. Anyone who supported Ron Paul in the primaries should also consider voting for Bob Barr.

There's no way Bob Barr is going to win, especially now that all the nut job Ron Paulians are backing him.
