No one was injured during an armed robbery early Tuesday morning at Wal-Mart, 2300 Sycamore Road.

At about 1:45 a.m., the suspect entered the store’s business office, displayed a handgun and demanded money that was in the office, said DeKalb Police Sergeant Bob Redel.

The suspect then fled the scene, and was last seen running from the store into a dark colored vehicle, Redel said.

The suspect is described as a black male with an average build and is about 6 feet tall. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a dark colored hat and blue jeans during the robbery.

The DeKalb Police Department is following some leads in the case, and the suspect was recorded on the store’s video surveillance. Images were not released Tuesday.

Redel could not comment on how much money was taken.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the DeKalb Police Department at 815-748-8400.
