Now that the city has a skating rink, do you plan to use it? |

Dear Editor,
After reading Ms. Kozak’s article column on Gov. Palin, I felt a need to respond. Let me start by saying that I am no fan of Palin. Her inclusion on Sen. McCain’s ticket is merely a ploy to attract two key voting blocks in this election: the dissident Hillary supporters and the Rush Limbaugh flock. In his first executive decision, McCain made a choice based entirely on political motivations instead of what would be best for the country.
Yet, while I never thought I’d defend Gov. Palin, I take issue with the reason outlined by Ms. Kozak. There is a skewed notion in today’s politics that in order to be a feminist, one must also be pro-choice. While you or I may disagree, it is unfair and inaccurate to call someone an anti-feminist simply because their religious convictions lead them to believe that abortion is wrong.
Now if you want to talk about why Gov. Palin is indeed, an anti-feminist, why aren’t you questioning her insistence on keeping young women uneducated about their sexual and reproductive health? Why aren’t you questioning her alliance with McCain, a senator who has vehemently opposed Senate legislation to mandate equal pay for women for equal work? Now that’s my perspective.
Sincerely,
