Vandalism of Late Nite Ride van results in arrest
By JUSTIN WEAVER

Vandalism of a Late Night Ride van Sept. 14 resulted in an arrest.

At about 1:45 a.m., a Late Night Ride van approached Burritoville, 1026 W. Hillcrest Drive, to make a pickup. Two males were spotted behind the vehicle, and one of them broke the right tail light, said Lt. Curtis Young of the University Police.

When police arrived at the scene, the two men fled southbound on Annie Glidden Road, Young said. Blake F. Verstrate, 19 of Atkinson, Ill. was apprehended in the bushes and admitted he had been drinking. Verstrate was later determined to be the one who broke the tail light of the van.

Verstrate is charged with criminal damage to property, illegal consumption by a minor and obstructing justice. The other suspect has not yet been apprehended, Young said.
