Dear Editor,

“The Republicans just can’t get a break...”?

Bush/McCain adviser and Fox commentator Karl Rove was quoted on FOX saying “The Republicans can’t seem to get a break when it comes to August and when it comes to the weather.” (http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/08/28/gustav-threatens-gop-convention-plans/).

They really don’t get it, do they? People on the Gulf Coast continue to be at risk from real destruction from hurricanes and the GOP leaders seem to think it’s just a big natural conspiracy against them. Could they have a guilty conscience from Katrina? Remember where Bush and McCain were when Katrina was attacking New Orleans & the Gulf Coast? They were having birthday cake and politicking (see link with citations from the press -- http://thinkprogress.org/katrina-timeline/).

Or was that just their conspiracy? Remember how many times the Democratic governor of Louisiana asked for help before Bush sent assistance (as we all watched in horror as New Orleans was torn apart). Please check the above timeline if you need to.

The GOP did get a new Republican Louisiana governor out of the deal.

Or maybe the Bush/McCain GOP really is just unfit to govern. Just look at the record, are we better off now than we were eight years ago? Or is it just that WE THE PEOPLE don’t understand the Bush/McCain NEW MATH?

Eight years of republican rule, divided by two oil men, equals $4 a GALLON GAS.

(Well at least they’re making a profit!)
