‘The ReRun Film Series returns to Carmike Market Square Cinema, 2160 Sycamore Road, beginning this weekend with a showing of “The Breakfast Club.”

The classic 1986 film starring Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall and Molly Ringwald follows five high school students and their wild antics during detention. The John Hughes film is widely considered an ’80s cult classic, but its appeal stretches on today.

In addition to “The Breakfast Club,” Carmike will show four other films that were selected by the audience and a Mystery ReRun Movie Oct. 24 and 25.

“Nobody will know what’s playing that weekend until we push play,” said Carmike assistant manager Jeff Kerman in a news release. “The film will come as a shock to our audience.”

Because the ReRun series will coincide with Halloween, Carmike will also be playing the film “Dracula.” The “Dracula” they’ll show on Halloween is the original from 1931.

“We thought that offering the original version of the film would be something special for Halloween,” Kerman said.

Patrons will be able to participate in a raffle to win movie posters, pins and banners.

Those who attend all five weeks of the film series and keep their ticket stubs will be eligible to be entered into a grand prize drawing.

Each film will be shown on Friday and Saturday nights at midnight for six weeks. Tickets are $5.
