"Back to the '80s" rocks the Egyptian Theatre
City police blotter for Nov. 20

Flavors of the Week rates DeKalb’s finest (or not so finest) on a scale of ice cream scoops. This week, think of the rating system as a scoop (or three) of neopolitan: The best person of the week gets chocolate flavor, second best gets strawberry and the “yeah, sure, nice try” gets vanilla.
Vanilla scoop: Story Corps
So they’re documenting reactions and stories from Feb. 14. Cool. That’s neat for those who want an official documentation of perspectives from all over campus.
It’ll give people who have something to say a positive outlet, and those who have nothing to say...well, the opportunity to say “no, thanks.”
History is, if nothing else, a way to gauge humanity and learn from the past. The story should be told correctly without sensationalism. This is a good opportunity for people who genuinely have something to say.
It’s in enough of a sideline position on the list of campus activities so that those who don’t want to touch on anything Feb. 14 don’t have to.
Strawberry scoop: Those who watched the presidential debate Friday
It’s been hammered into our heads, and I’m going to say it again: You have a vote, do something with it. Regardless of whether people have their minds made up about whom they’re voting for, the issues are still rampant with the need for attention.
The economic bail-out plan, if nothing else, is in dire need of some serious democratic discussion. Pay attention, and maybe the whiners out there might spew some intelligent thought for once.
Chocolate scoop: Paul Newman
At 83, this man deserves buckets upon buckets of chocolate ice cream, if not a huge hug from everybody.
He graced millions of TV screens, movie screens, hundreds of magazine covers and poster faces. He was apart of the good age of cinema, and will be a strong screen presence sorely missed.
