As I shamelessly eavesdrop to conversations in DuSable, Reavis, wherever, I’ve noticed more people than ever are talking about the vice presidential debate. Whether they’re bashing Sarah Palin or making fun of Joe Biden’s toothpaste-commercial-worthy teeth, at least they’re paying attention enough to notice. Admittedly, it’s difficult to get everyone everywhere to give two hoots about all the issues. At least they’re watching. It’s a step in the right direction.
Strawberry scoop: Green party or independent candidate advocates
Partisanship in this country is incredibly faulty. No one truly adheres to all characteristics of one particular party. The world that politics govern isn’t colored in black and white. Shades of gray and room for differences are what make this country so neat. It’s evident another option is needed. In fact, it’s evident another several options are needed. At this point, however, let’s count our blessings and give credit to independent candidate advocates still trying to give the American people another choice of which bubble to pencil in Nov. 4.
