Ball State Cardinals

After six weeks, No. 25 Ball State is still without a loss. The Cardinals picked up their sixth win in a 31-0 victory over Toledo.
BSU running back MiQuale Lewis picked up 157-yards and two touchdowns on 31 attempts. This marks the fifth consecutive game of 100-plus rushing yards for the MAC’s leading rusher.
The Cardinals will face Western Kentucky (2-4) at 7 p.m. Saturday in Bowling Green, Ky.


Central Michigan Chippewas
Coach: Butch Jones (2nd season)
Offense: Multiple
Defense: Multiple
2007 Record: 8-6 overall, 6-1 MAC

After a bye week, Central Michigan will jump back into action against Temple (2-4 overall, 1-2 MAC) at 5 p.m. Saturday in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
Chippewas quarterback Dan LeFevour leads the MAC in total offense with 1,589-yards or 317.8-yards per game.


Eastern Michigan Eagles
Coach: Jeff Genyk (5th season)

2007 Record: 4-8 overall, 3-4 MAC

It was a nail biter, but at the last second, Eastern Michigan pulled off a win against Bowling Green last weekend.
With 36 seconds left in the game, the Eagles quarterback, Andy Schmitt, hooked up with his wide receiver for a 16-yard touchdown pass, giving them the 24-21 win.
EMU will face Army (1-4) at 2 p.m. Saturday at West Point, N.Y. The game will be available on ESPN Classic.


Northern Illinois Huskies
Coach: Jerry Kill (1st season)
Offense: Multiple
Defense: 4-3
2007 Record: 2-10 overall, 1-6 MAC

NIU returns to DeKalb for the first of three straight home games.
The Huskies lost 14-9 last weekend against the Tennessee Volunteers (2-3, 0-2 SEC). NIU will now play within the MAC for the rest of the season until the final game of the year against Navy.
The action against the MAC will start at 3 p.m. this Saturday against Miami (1-4, 0-1) at Huskie Stadium. The game will be broadcast on Comcast SportsNet.


Toledo Rockets
Coach: Tom Amstutz (8th season)
Offense: Spread
Defense: Multiple
2007 Record: 5-7 overall, 3-5 MAC

For the third consecutive time this season, the Rockets lost a home game, as they fell 31-0 to No. 25 Ball State.
Toledo has the worst scoring defense in the conference, as it’s allowed 35.8 points per game so far.
This weekend the Rockets will have to tighten up as they head to the “Big House” to face Michigan (2-3, 1-1 Big Ten). The game will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Ann Arbor, Mich., and can be seen on the Big Ten Network.


Western Michigan Broncos
Coach: Bill Cubit (4th season)
Offense: Multiple
Defense: 4-3
2007 Record: 5-7 overall, 3-4 MAC

Western Michigan was able to maintain its perfect conference record last weekend after beating Ohio 41-20.
Broncos quarterback Tim Hiller lead the attack with 347-yards of offense and four passing touchdowns. In total, WMU is second in the conference in total offense, averaging 429.0-yards per game.
WMU will look to continue its dominate offensive attack against Buffalo (2-3, 1-1) at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in Buffalo, N.Y. The game will be aired on Time Warner Cable NY.
