Huskies on Parade auction coming soon

By NORTHERN STAR STAFF

Friends and fans of Huskies on Parade soon will have a chance to bid on a pup of their own.

Huskies on Parade sponsors purchased and decorated a 40” Huskie and a 20” identical pup. With most of the 55 sponsored Huskies now on display throughout DeKalb/Sycamore, the 20” pups will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

All proceeds from the auction will go to the Feb. 14 Student Scholarship Fund.

The auction will kick off with a sneak preview during Homecoming festivities on Oct. 18.

A Huskies on Parade tent will be located in the Alumni Village (southwest of the Barsema Alumni & Visitors Center) from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

During this time only, many of the pups will be available at a special “Buy it Now” price of $500.

At 8 p.m. that night, the auction will go live on-line at www.ebay.com. Bidding will continue for
nine days, closing on 8 p.m. Oct. 27.

While most of the pups are identical to larger Huskies that can be seen around town, one very special pup was designed exclusively for the auction.

Superfan is attired in a Chicago Bears uniform and adorned with autographs of 18 Chicago Bears players.

One of the most prominent autographs is that of Garrett Wolfe, former Huskies standout and current Bears team member. (Note: Superfan will be on display during Homecoming, but will not be available for purchase at the Buy it Now price.)

Huskies on Parade will literally be on parade as some of the Huskies ride in the Homecoming Parade.
