By BEN GROSS

Ohio Bobcats
Head Coach – Frank Solich
2008 Record – (2-5 overall, 1-2 MAC)

Of seven MAC East teams, Ohio was one of two to get a win last weekend. The 26-19 victory over Kent State marked the Bobcats’ first win in conference this season.
Ohio will have the next week off and pick up action again Tuesday against Temple. That game will be televised on ESPN2.

Temple Owls
Head Coach – Al Golden
2008 Record – (2-5 overall, 1-3 MAC)

With 29.92-yards per kick off return, Temple leads the nation in bring back kicks. However, the stat wasn’t enough to carry Temple, as Central Michigan beat it 21-14 last weekend.
The Owls won’t get a chance to return any footballs this weekend though, as their next game is on Tuesday, Oct. 21 against Ohio, which will be broadcast on ESPN2.

Akron Zips
Head Coach – J.D. Brookhart
2008 Record – (3-4 overall, 1-2 MAC)

Three Akron players were nominated for MAC player of the week, but none won the award. The same fate beheld the Zips as they lost 33-37 against Bowling Green last Saturday.
Akron will take on Eastern Michigan at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Ypsilanti, Mich.

Buffalo Bulls
Head Coach – Turner Gill
2008 Record – (2-4 overall, 1-2 MAC)

Buffalo held a 14-point lead over Western Michigan with five minutes left in the fourth quarter. The Bulls couldn’t hold on though, as they lost 34-28 in overtime.
Buffalo will be back in action against Army, which defeated Eastern Michigan last weekend. The game will be at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday in Buffalo, N.Y., and will be televised on ESPN Game Plan.

Kent State Golden Flashes
Head Coach – Doug Martin
2008 Record – (1-6 overall, 0-3 MAC)

For yet another week, Kent State failed to get a MAC victory. The Golden Flashes dropped their last game against Ohio 19-26 despite quarterback Julian Edelman rushing for 136 yards and passing for 200 yards.
KSU is off with a bye week and will return to action Saturday, Oct. 25 against Miami (Ohio).

Miami RedHawks
Head Coach – Shane Montgomery
2008 Record – (1-5 overall, 0-2 MAC)

Miami (Ohio) made it close but couldn’t pull out the win over NIU, as it lost 17-13. The RedHawks remain winless in the MAC and rank second-to-last in offensive production in the conference.
Miami will head to Bowling Green, Ohio to face the Bowling Green Falcons. The game is at 1 p.m. on Saturday and will be aired on ESPN Plus.

Bowling Green Falcons
Head Coach – Gregg Brandon
2008 Record – (3-3 overall, 1-1 MAC)

With a 1-1 record in conference, Bowling Green sits on top of the MAC East. The Falcons picked up a 37-33 win over Akron last weekend, by scoring 23 points in the fourth quarter.
The Falcons host Mami (Ohio) at 1 p.m. on Saturday with the game being televised on ESPN Plus.
